Honed or polished natural stone cladding is subject to progressive wear, acquiring a patina over time. Nevertheless, we recommend that you place floor mats and grates in front of any direct access points to the outside in order to prevent abrasive elements from entering your home and causing deep scratches to the stone.

CLEAN the area

Allow the newly fitted paving to dry before moving on to the next step. A 3- to 6-month period is essential in order to allow water and moisture to evaporate from the mortar and the slabs.
We recommend using only a mop dampened with clean water in order to prevent efflorescence caused by rising damp from accumulating and clogging the material’s pores.
If the stonework is particularly dirty after the work is finished, you may clean it with our ROCACLEAN product following the instructions for use carefully.

Stone can be PROTECTED !

Application of a water-and-oil repellant is essential for heavy-duty flooring at risk of staining, such as kitchen floors. The product must be applied at least 6 months after the stone has been laid, on perfectly dry flooring, free from rising damp. Otherwise, trapped moisture may cause major damage (such as flaking, stains, efflorescence etc.).
We offer three water-repellent products, which you will find in our showroom :
          ROCASOL neutral water-and-oil repellant,
ROCASOL EF repels water and enhances stone color, giving a wet look
ROCATOP is designed for work surfaces.

Before application, we advise testing the product on a small surface in order to assess the final effect and to prevent a possible adverse reaction.

We recommend enlisting the services of a professional with appropriate knowledge of the materials concerned, and their use, in order to carry out treatment.

Low-maintenance STONE

Day-to-day maintenance involves sweeping, vacuuming dust, and cleaning the stone. A mop dampened with clean water is used for cleaning.
If a detergent is required for grease stains, we recommend using our neutral soap ROCANET , or a similar household soap.
We absolutely advise against using any detergents containing free alkali, acid (even diluted), chlorine, bleach, scouring agents, oil, silicone, varnish or solvents. These may cause irreversible damage to the stone.
